A Canadian pastor who claimed that Christians are immune to COVID-19 caught the disease. He was giving sermons in his native Myanmar and was arrested after a short stint in the hospital.

David Lah, 43 years, is charged with holding mass gatherings to give his speeches. He faces up to 3 years in prison if found guilty.

He’s now recovered from COVID-19.

In his sermons, Lah claimed that “If people hold the Bible and Jesus in their hearts, the disease will not come in. The only person who can cure and give peace in this pandemic is Jesus”, according to The Guardian.

The same article claims he caught the disease around mid-April and got arrested around the end of April.

The CBC claims that 2 people have died of complications due to COVID-19 after attending his rallies.
