Back when the COVID-19 pandemic was nothing but a small outbreak in Wuhan, China, Chinese authorities physically sequestered thousands of people in their own homes by welding shut the doors of their residential compounds.
That’s what a documentary produced by the CBC back in February unveils.
The documentary shows images shot using cell phones in which the authorities are physically welding shut the doors.
Here’s a couple of excerpts of the article accompanying the documentary:
“One video, featured in Coronavirus, shows a woman screaming from her balcony: “Help! My mother is dying. Someone come quickly! I have no way out!”“
“Australian Tim McLean, filming from Wuhan where he lives with his Chinese spouse, says, “the police are actually knocking on doors and taking temperatures, and if people have got a temperature, they’re dragging them out.”“
