A Pakistani judge has granted bail to two suspects accused of killing their female relative in an honor killing. As reported by Samaa, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) accepted the bail pleas of Wali Khan and Awal Said, who were arrested on charges of killing their female relative on pretext of honor in Lower Dir district around three months ago.

The single-member bench consisting of Justice Shahid Khan said in his decision that the allegations against the accused needed further probe. He allowed the two people, accused of a double murder, to go back home.

These killings are often carried out by family members who believe that their actions are justified in order to protect their family’s honor.
